Tinubu Authorises Deployment of Four Ambassador-Designates to the US, France, and Two Other Countries

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of four ambassador-designates to key foreign missions, including the United States and France, as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic engagement and international relations.

The approval covers the deployment of the envoys to strategic countries considered vital to Nigeria’s political, economic, and security interests. The postings are expected to fill important diplomatic gaps and enhance Nigeria’s representation abroad, particularly in nations with strong bilateral ties and global influence.

According to official information, the ambassador-designates had earlier completed all required screening and confirmation processes before receiving presidential clearance for their postings. With the approval granted, the envoys are expected to assume duties in their respective host countries in the coming weeks.

The move signals the administration’s commitment to revitalising Nigeria’s foreign service and repositioning the country’s diplomatic missions to better serve national interests. The ambassadors are expected to promote economic diplomacy, attract investment, deepen political cooperation, and protect the interests of Nigerians living abroad.

Diplomatic observers note that postings to countries such as the United States and France are particularly significant, given their roles in global politics, trade, security cooperation, and international decision
