Pastor Kingsley Okonofua has offered a deeper insight into the meaning of being “rich in Christ Jesus,” emphasizing that the concept goes far beyond material prosperity and instead reflects the profound spiritual inheritance available to believers through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Speaking during a sermon, the cleric explained that many people often misunderstand biblical references to riches, interpreting them in terms of financial gain or earthly success. He clarified that the riches being referred to in Christian teachings are spiritual in nature, encompassing grace, salvation, peace, and a restored relationship with God.
According to him, the foundation of this spiritual wealth lies in the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He noted that through this act, believers are granted forgiveness of sins, freedom from condemnation, and access to eternal life. These, he said, are treasures that cannot be measured in physical terms or compared to worldly possessions.
