Atiku’s Aide Dismisses ADC Speculation, Says Peter Obi Is Simply Engaging with NDC Activities

A political aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has dismissed growing speculation surrounding Peter Obi’s political affiliations, insisting that the former presidential candidate has not abandoned any political platform in favor of another.

The aide described recent discussions about Obi’s political movements as exaggerated, arguing that his participation in various political and public engagements should not be interpreted as a sign of defection or realignment.

According to the aide, Obi remains focused on issues affecting national development and continues to interact with different political stakeholders across the country. He stated that attending meetings, conferences, and public events does not automatically indicate a change in political loyalty.

The remarks came amid increasing debate among political observers regarding Obi’s recent appearances and interactions with leaders from different political groups. These developments have fueled speculation about possible future alliances ahead of upcoming political contests.

The aide further emphasized that politicians often engage with individuals and organizations outside their immediate political circles, especially when discussing matters of national interest. He noted that such interactions are common in democratic societies and should not be viewed as evidence of a political switch.

Supporters of Obi have also maintained that the former presidential candidate remains committed to his political ideals and continues to advocate for reforms aimed at improving governance, accountability, and economic growth.

Political analysts believe that as preparations for future elections gradually take shape, public interest in the movements and decisions of major political figures will continue to grow. They noted that alliances, consultations, and strategic engagements are likely to become more frequent as political actors position themselves for future contests.

While speculation persists, neither Obi nor his representatives have publicly announced any major political realignment, leaving room for continued debate among supporters and observers.

The development has once again highlighted the intense interest surrounding Nigeria’s political landscape, where the activities of influential figures often generate widespread discussion and differing interpretations.
