Security forces have recorded a major breakthrough in the fight against criminality in Benue State with the arrest of a notorious bandit leader during a coordinated operation in one of the state’s local government areas.
The operation was carried out following sustained intelligence gathering that tracked the movements of the suspect, who has been linked to a series of violent attacks, kidnappings, and armed robberies across several communities. Troops moved in during a targeted raid and successfully apprehended the bandit kingpin without significant resistance.
Residents of the affected communities described the arrest as a huge relief, noting that the suspect had for months instilled fear through coordinated assaults on villages, farmlands, and travelers along major routes.
