Three Soldiers Injured as Troops Launch Offensive Against Terrorists in Zamfara

Three soldiers have been injured during a sustained military operation targeting armed groups in Zamfara State, as security forces intensified efforts to dismantle terrorist hideouts across the region.

According to sources within the security establishment, the operation was carried out in multiple locations identified as strongholds of criminal elements responsible for repeated attacks on rural communities. Troops reportedly engaged the insurgents in a series of coordinated offensives, resulting in heavy casualties among the attackers.

The wounded soldiers were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries during the confrontation. They were promptly evacuated to a military medical facility, where they are currently receiving treatment and are in stable condition.

Military officials indicated that the operation led to the neutralization of several terrorists, while others fled into surrounding forest areas with gunshot wounds. A number of weapons, ammunition, and logistical supplies were also recovered from the scene, further weakening the operational capacity of the armed groups.

Residents in nearby communities reported hearing prolonged gunfire and aerial surveillance activity during the offensive. Many expressed relief at the military’s intervention, noting that the presence of armed groups had disrupted daily life and posed constant threats to safety.

Security forces have since intensified patrols and surveillance in the area to prevent regrouping by fleeing militants. Authorities reiterated their commitment to restoring peace and stability in Zamfara, emphasizing that operations will continue until all identified threats are neutralized.

The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region, where armed groups have been involved in attacks, kidnappings, and other violent activities. Efforts by the military remain focused on dismantling these networks and ensuring the protection of civilians.
