Witness Testifies Former Governor Had No Role in Abuja Property Acquisition

Proceedings in a property acquisition case took a significant turn as a witness told the court that a former governor was not involved in the purchase of several properties located in Abuja.

During testimony, the witness stated that the transactions were handled by individuals and entities separate from the former governor and that, to the best of the witness’s knowledge, the former state leader neither authorized nor participated in the acquisition process.

The witness explained that documentation relating to the properties did not indicate any direct involvement by the former governor. According to the testimony, the purchases were conducted through established procedures and were managed by persons responsible for overseeing the transactions.

Under questioning, the witness maintained that there was no evidence available to suggest that the former governor negotiated, approved, or funded the acquisitions. The court also heard details regarding ownership records, payment arrangements, and administrative processes connected to the properties.

Legal representatives involved in the matter examined the witness on various aspects of the transactions, seeking clarification on the roles played by different individuals connected to the purchases. The testimony formed part of broader efforts to establish the circumstances surrounding the acquisition of the properties.

Observers noted that the witness’s statements could become an important element in the court’s assessment of the issues under consideration. However, legal analysts emphasized that the court would evaluate all evidence and testimonies presented before reaching any conclusions.

The proceedings were adjourned to a later date for the continuation of hearings, with additional witnesses expected to provide testimony as the case progresses.

As the matter remains before the court, all parties continue to be presumed innocent unless and until otherwise determined through due legal process.
