The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of its chairman in Ijumu Local Government Area, Oyewole Mayowa Solomon.
Solomon reportedly collapsed while participating in a party reconciliation meeting held at the Iyara Town Hall, the headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area. The meeting was convened as part of efforts to resolve internal disagreements and promote unity among APC stakeholders in the area.
The incident occurred while the meeting was ongoing, reportedly leaving party leaders, delegates and other participants shocked and confused.
Following his collapse, efforts were made to provide immediate assistance before he was taken to a medical facility in neighbouring Kabba. He was subsequently pronounced dead.
The circumstances surrounding Solomon’s death remain unclear, and no official explanation establishing the cause of death has been disclosed.
