Legal practitioner Badejo-Okusanya has been elected as the new President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), following the conclusion of the association’s national leadership election.
His emergence marks the beginning of a new administration expected to focus on strengthening the legal profession, promoting the independence of the judiciary, advancing the welfare of legal practitioners, and enhancing the rule of law across the country.
In his acceptance remarks, Badejo-Okusanya expressed appreciation to members of the association for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to lead with integrity, transparency, and a commitment to inclusive leadership. He assured members that his administration would prioritize reforms aimed at improving professional standards, expanding opportunities for young lawyers, and encouraging greater participation in the affairs of the association.
He also emphasized the need for continued collaboration among members of the legal profession to address challenges affecting the justice system, including delays in the administration of justice, access to legal services, and the protection of constitutional rights.
The newly elected NBA President called on legal practitioners nationwide to remain united in defending the rule of law and safeguarding the independence of the legal profession. He added that constructive engagement with relevant institutions would be essential in advancing justice and strengthening public confidence in Nigeria’s legal system.
Members of the association and other stakeholders have congratulated Badejo-Okusanya on his election, expressing optimism that his leadership will bring renewed energy and strategic direction to the NBA.
