
A wave of grief has swept through an Oyo community following the reported killing of a teacher who was earlier abducted by suspected bandits.
According to residents, the victim was kidnapped while travelling along a rural route within the state. Family members and community leaders were said to have made efforts to secure the teacher’s release after the abductors reportedly contacted them and demanded ransom.
Despite attempts to negotiate for freedom, the situation later turned tragic when news emerged that the teacher had allegedly been killed by the kidnappers. Reports indicated that the assailants brutally beheaded the victim, leaving residents in shock and fear over the worsening insecurity in the area.
