Former Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Muntari Shagari, has stated that President Bola Tinubu remains deeply committed to addressing Nigeria’s security challenges, describing the fight against insecurity as one of the administration’s top priorities.
Shagari said the President has continued to devote significant attention and resources to combating banditry, terrorism, kidnapping, and other criminal activities affecting different parts of the country. According to him, the security situation has remained a major concern for the Federal Government, prompting frequent consultations with security agencies and the implementation of various strategies aimed at restoring peace and stability.
He noted that the administration has strengthened collaboration among the military, police, intelligence agencies, and other security institutions in an effort to improve operational effectiveness and protect lives and property across the nation.
The former deputy governor also commended ongoing efforts to modernize security operations through improved logistics, intelligence gathering, and deployment of personnel to areas facing security threats. He expressed optimism that sustained government interventions would yield positive results and gradually reduce criminal activities.
Shagari urged Nigerians to support security agencies by providing credible information that could assist in tracking criminal elements. He emphasized that achieving lasting peace requires cooperation between government institutions, community leaders, and citizens.
While acknowledging that security challenges remain in some regions, he maintained that the administration is determined to confront the threats and create a safer environment for economic growth and national development.
He further called for patience and collective responsibility, stressing that overcoming longstanding security problems requires consistent effort, adequate resources, and the support of all stakeholders.
