The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, has expressed confidence in the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that those seeking to challenge him in the 2027 general election have yet to present a convincing vision capable of transforming the country.
Hamzat said meaningful national development requires clear policies, practical solutions, and consistent implementation rather than political rhetoric. According to him, the current administration has continued to pursue reforms aimed at strengthening the economy, improving infrastructure, and laying the foundation for long-term national growth.
He maintained that while every citizen has the constitutional right to contest for public office, anyone aspiring to lead the country must present realistic plans that address the nation’s pressing challenges, including insecurity, unemployment, inflation, education, healthcare, and economic development.
The deputy governor argued that leadership should be judged by the ability to make difficult decisions that deliver sustainable progress. He noted that Nigerians are increasingly interested in leaders who can provide practical solutions and improve living standards across the country.
Hamzat also urged citizens to evaluate political leaders based on their performance, credibility, and commitment to national development rather than campaign promises alone. He emphasized that public office should be viewed as an opportunity to serve the people and advance the country’s collective interests.
